Following our clay whistle project, we will be participating in the Lions Club Peace Poster Contest. Below is a link to the website and the theme for this year is "Our World, Our Future." Begin to brainstorm ideas for a poster. You may not use words, only images. If you type in "Lions Club Peace Posters." you can see many examples of posters over the years. There will be one 50 dollar winner from your class!

Today, on the paper provided, begin to sketch out ideas for your poster. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
1. NO WORDS!
2. This is an international competition. Make sure your ideas can be clearly understood around the world.
3. The paper will be the same size as the city projects. Consider how you will divide up such a large space.
4. Brainstorm ideas for "Our World." What does that mean to a student your age?
5. Brainstorm ideas for "Our Future". Again, what does that mean to you? What might your future look like?
6. This is a PEACE poster. What images (besides a peace sign) can symbolize or represent peace?
7. To win this competition, you need to be creative and imaginative. They see many peace signs and doves! What can you do that will make the judges think about your world, your future and the idea of peace?

Good luck! I look forward to looking at your sketches!
